Because it is a permanent magnet gear reduction starter it will spin faster with less amperage draw. The solenoid sits further from the exhaust and since it has no field windings, it will start your vehicle better under high heat conditions.

This is considered a "no shim" starter which makes for quick and easy installation.

Fits applications for automatic and manual transmissions with 153 toothflywheels for 283, 305, 327, 350, 396, 400 engines with up to 9.5:1 compression ratios.
