The kit Includes:

I verified that everything in the kit with the exception of the M8 hardware was made in the USA including US 304SS used for the plates. The photo showing the tool assembled to the head and shows"JH" bolts were bolts I had in my tool box and not the bolts in the kit. The kit bolts were made in the US.
I made a version of these in the 2014-2015 time-frame when I needed to do valve seals on my Oldsmobile 350. The prior time, around 2000, a friend and I removed valve springs from an Olds motor with an adapted Chevy tool because we couldnt find a good Oldsmobile specific tool. I had flashbacks of getting my fingertips snapped and a valve spring flying between our foreheads; then hitting the roof of the pole barn while using that adapted chevy tool. I never wanted to do valve springs again without a tool specific to Oldsmobile.
In 2014-2015 I searched again and found nothing.... so I created my own.
Fast forward to August/September 2020 and someone saw an old post I had on a forum and asked if I still had any tools for sale. I didnt but I had always wanted to make one further improvement to the tool which has now been incorporated.
The 2014-2015 version had no machining other than tapped threads in the bottom plate. Since the Oldsmobile valves are on a 6 degree angle the 14/15 tool wasnt centered well over the valve retainer over the entire stroke. This new version has a slot in the top plate and a machined pocket. The combination allows the top plate to move better with the angle and the machined pocket prevents the top plate from sliding. Double studs were used because the distance between the Olds valves springs is tight and second because two separate studs allows tipping the plate slightly. If you are having trouble removing or installing the keepers you can walk one nut down more than the other which will tip the top plate slightly to help expose one side or the other. One of the photos posted shows the tool assembled on a spare head (the head is not part of the offer).
Besides Cutlass, Delta 88, 98, Toronado, Buick Riviera the Oldmobile engines were offered in vehicles ranging from the Pontiac Trans Am, and Caprice wagons to the Cadillac Brougham, as well as boats and Motor homes, so I thought very others may have experienced the same situation so I am offering the kit.
Other than the 260, 307, 350, 403, 455 this tool will work on any Oldsmobile with the same basic architecture. Ive tried it on the 350 and the 455 but I suspect it may work on the 330 and 425 as well. Those are the two which I have the least experience so please verify prior to purchasing.
I do not believe this tool will work on the LS engines because of the valve cover tall bosses.
If anyone has my 2014-2015 version please contact me. I made extra "H" plates to upgrade the prior version tool.
